Building & Grounds Committee

The Buildings and Grounds Committee (B&G) exists to attend to any matters related to our physical space. Located at 97 Broadway, ASK’s facilities include our 3 galleries, a classroom space, and a 99-seat theater. This committee may be involved in tending to or delegating tasks such as building upkeep, renovation, and accessibility.

Education Committee

The Education Committee is appointed by the board to create and manage educational activities and initiatives to provide educational opportunities for artists and community members; and promote The Arts Society of Kingston’s mission, vision, and values.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee exists to ensure that ASK’s finances are being reviewed and optimized regularly. This committee works closely with the Executive Director and Treasurer of ASK to ensure that our income and expenses are balanced.

Fundraising & Development Committee

The Fundraising and Development Committee exists to aid ASK in our efforts to raise outside funds for things like programming, building upkeep, and more. This committee is tasked with leading efforts including identifying and applying for grants and establishing new partnerships and fostering existing ones with donors and supporters.

Gallery Committee

The Gallery Committee is a standing committee appointed by the BOD. The committee works in collaboration with the Executive Director to create and manage opportunities for ASK and community members to exhibit work and to promote the Art Society of Kingston’s mission, vision and values.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is appointed by the Board with a primary function of sustaining  & expanding ASK Membership. The Committee strives to better define & delineate Membership levels, such as yearly fees, benefits/perks related to those levels & payment process options. We strive towards diversity & try to develop mechanisms to allow for greater accessibility & comprehensive community-building opportunities in keeping with ASK’s mission, vision, & values.

Performing Arts Committee

The Performing Arts Committee (PAC) is appointed by the board to create and manage performance activities and initiatives to provide performance opportunities and events for artists and community members, including advising the Executive Director on the ASK Presents series; and promote The Arts Society of Kingston’s mission, vision, and values.

Strategic Planning & Outreach Committee

ASK is looking for people to join this newly formed committee. This concentrated working committee will be tasked with developing and executing the process of defining ASK’s 3-5 year strategic plan, gathering and synthesizing information and input received and giving the Board its draft of the plan for approval. ⁠To be clear, members of the committee will not responsible for creating strategic priorities based on their individual needs but will be facilitating a method of gathering input from the community at large from populations including ASK Members, local youth, outside organizations, etc. ⁠
