Theme: Color Inferno
Arts Society of Kingston invites artists to submit work for Color Inferno, a juried exhibition celebrating the power of bold color, radiant energy, and visual intensity.
From vibrant abstractions and emotionally charged palettes to blazing sunsets and molten landscapes, Color Inferno explores color at its most expressive. We encourage artists to consider how hue, saturation, light, and contrast evoke passion, transformation, joy, chaos, warmth, or renewal. Whether your work burns with fiery reds and oranges or ignites through unexpected combinations of color, we welcome fresh interpretations of this dynamic theme.
All media are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, mixed media, and digital art.

Juror: Stephen Olivier
Bio: Stephen Olivier is an award winning artist whose work has been exhibited widely in galleries, museums, and artist-run spaces across the United States and internationally. Olivier was awarded a 2025 residency at NES in Skagaströnd, Iceland. His work has appeared in numerous group exhibitions, including Let the Fur and Feathers Fly at Epperson Gallery in California, the Texas National Competition at the Cole Art Center in Texas, Big Bold Pride at the Art Society of Kingston, and Truth Unveiled at Art League Rhode Island. Additional exhibitions include the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, KIPNZ in Walton, NY, and venues throughout New York, Atlanta, Miami, and Berlin. Olivier’s solo exhibitions include Over the Garden Wall at Subdivision Art in Long Island City, and Beforemath at the Octopus Building in Miami.
Olivier’s sculptural work has also appeared in film, including creating thirty resin sculptures for Shelton Walsmith’s short film The Importance of Being Amber. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Preparator at White Box and The Annex in New York, where he installed exhibitions for artists including Carolee Schneemann, Brian Maguire, Javier Téllez, Marianne Vitale, Joel Sternfeld, William Anastasi, Conrad Atkinson, and Jeff Chiplis.

Eligibility
- Open to emerging and established artists.
- Work should be created within the past few years
- Artists are encouraged to submit work that has not been previously exhibited
- All work must be original and for sale.
Submission Process
- Prepare a brief artist statement connecting your work to the exhibition theme.
- Select or create eligible artwork.
- Submit online by August 10 at 11:59 PM.
- If accepted, deliver work during the intake windows below.

Opening Reception: Saturday October 3, 3 PM
SHOW DATES: October 3 – October 25, 2026
Artwork Drop-off: 9/29 (5-8 pm) and 9/30 (1-4 PM
Artwork Pick-up: 10/27 (5-8 PM) and 10/28 (1-4 PM)
Submission Guidelines
If accepted:
- Artists must have means to transport the work to/from ASK.
- Artists receive 70% of sales during the run of the exhibition. ASK retains 30% of sales. All work must be for sale
- All artworks will be exhibited as entered in form. This includes the Artist Name, Artwork, Title, Date, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. No changes and/or substitutions will be permitted. Please check your details carefully.
- Each work must have proper wire or stand if 3D. ASK will provide pedestals.
- All exhibitors must schedule 2 dates to gallery sit if physically able, on Saturday and/or Sunday from 11:45 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:30 – 5:10 PM.
- Artwork must have NOT been exhibited within the last calendar year at ASK.
