Creating Work @ ASK

Visual Artists are invited to make ASK their artistic home. From conceiving through exhibiting, ASK is designed to support artists at every stage of their work. Our sunlit studio and galleries are available as creative spaces to create new work.

ASK’s Art Incubator

Bring your creative process to ASK.

  1. Gather as a salon or work individually to create work
  2. Provide ongoing art classes or single art workshops
  3. Join ASK’s Free Sketch Group– and be part of a monthly evening where visual artists to create new work.

ASK Artist Members receive a sizable discount to utilize our Studio Classroom or Galleries as creative maker spaces.

Exhibiting Work @ ASK

Would you like to show your artwork in one of ASK’s galleries?

There are three ways to show work at ASK!

  1. Member Shows: Become a member and participate in monthly shows, 7x each year.
  2. Curated Shows: Participate in one of our 4 curated shows each year as a member or non-member.
  3. Solo or Small Group Shows: Apply as an artist or curator to have your own show at ASK in our Spotlight or Front gallery.

Member Shows

Exhibiting your current artwork in our monthly Members’ Exhibit is a benefit of ASK membership and is open to all current artist-level ASK members.

Steps to Submitting for Member Shows:

  1. Be prepared with JPGs of your current work.
  2. Become an Artist member or renew your membership, if needed.
  3. Fill out submission form on the CALL FOR ART.
  4. Be brave!

Curated or Juried Shows

Open to Artist members and non-members alike, these are competitive shows that take place 4 – 6 times each year.

Steps to Submitting for Juried Shows:

  1. Be prepared with JPGs of current work for consideration.
  2. Fill out submission form from the Show event page.
  3. Be brave!

Solo/Group Shows

The Gallery Committee accepts proposals from member and non-member artists for shows once each year in late July.

ASK has two galleries for solo and group shows: The Front Gallery and The Spotlight Gallery. The specs and layout of each space are available:

Steps to Submitting for Solo/Group Shows:

  1. Be prepared with JPGs of current work for consideration.
  2. Make your proposal!
  3. Curators: you will be responsible for the organizational and logistical aspects of coordinating artists, delivering/installing artwork, providing promotional materials and rental payment.
  4. Solo Artists: You will be responsible for the organizational and logistical aspects of delivering/installing artwork and uninstalling work, providing promotional materials and rental payment.
  5. We can’t wait to see your ideas!

We will be accepting applications for Solo or Small Group Exhibitions for 2027 in July 2026.

Artwork Submission Requirements

  • For Member shows, artist must be a current member of ASK. Open Call shows do not require ASK membership.
  • Submit one or two works. To prevent overcrowding, ASK may limit submissions to 1 work, if needed.
  • Must be relevant to the Show theme. Please note: photographed nudity is not accepted at this time.
  • All artwork must be original and must be owned by artist.
  • Work must not have been exhibited at ASK within 1 year.
  • Artists will submit 1 jpg/png/mp3/mov file per work.
  • Artists must have means to transport the work to/from ASK.
  • All work must be for sale. Artists receive 70% of sales during the run of the exhibition. ASK retains 30% of sales.
  • All artworks will be exhibited as entered in submission form. This includes the Artist Name, Artwork, Title, Date, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. No changes and/or substitutions will be permitted. Please check your details carefully.
  • All exhibitors must schedule 2 (2.5 hour) dates to gallery sit. (ASK survives on volunteerism.)

Artwork Preparation

  • Please wire your work to be hung. No sawtooth, strings or hooks please. 
  • Please create a label and tape to the back of your work: 
    • Your name
    • Phone number – cell numbers are preferable
    • Current mailing address
    • Email address
    • Name of artwork
    • Materials used
    • Price
  • Please create a label and tape to the front of your work:
    • Your name
    • Name of artwork
    • Materials used
    • Price
