Committee – Performing & Media Arts

Statement of Purpose

Performing & Media Arts Committee (PMAC) is appointed by the board to:

1. support and manage workshops and activities that support performing and media artists in our community and region,
2. support the ongoing operations and sustainability of ASK’s performance spaces,
3. amplify the opportunities at ASK to performing arts groups and artists whose work is aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Arts Society of Kingston.

Committee Composition and Meetings

The Committee is comprised of no less than three members. The Committee shall meet once a month. Each meeting shall be held on the 1st Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise scheduled.

Leadership and Participation

All members are required to fully participate in the work of the Committee which includes outreach to performing and media artists, and performance groups, and amplification of the ongoing work and opportunities at ASK. Every member is expected to be willing to provide volunteer hours to sustain our performance spaces and the organization of our events and workshops. All members are required to attend each monthly scheduled meeting. In the event that a member cannot attend the meeting, the member is to email committee members prior to the meeting.

Committee Responsibilities and Duties

1. Identify the needs of the community and its members as it relates to performances, media and performing opportunities.
2. Promote performances, seek out sponsorships and amplify the programs and performing arts events taking place at ASK.
3. Provide ongoing volunteerism to support the operations, management, and sustainability of our performance and workshop spaces.
