Solo or Small Group Exhibition Submission Deadline: 10.1.26, 11:59 PM

The Arts Society of Kingston (ASK) invites artists to apply for a solo exhibition in our Spotlight Gallery or Front Gallery. Artists receive a 6-week show in one of our galleries between March – December 2027. We welcome submissions from emerging and established contemporary artists working in visual media, including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fiber, ceramics, and mixed media.

ASK is committed to presenting thought-provoking exhibitions that celebrate artistic excellence, foster dialogue, and reflect the diversity of contemporary creative practice.

Eligibility

• Open to artists 18 years and older.
• Individual artists only.
• All work must be original.
• Artists must have a cohesive body of work sufficient to fill the gallery.

Submission Requirements

Please submit the following as a single PDF:

• Artist statement (maximum 500 words)
• Current artist biography or CV
• 10–20 images of recent work
• Image list including title, year, medium, dimensions, and sale price (if applicable)
• Exhibition proposal describing the concept and installation vision (maximum 500 words)
• Website and/or social media links (optional)

Exhibition Support

Selected artists will receive:

• A professionally presented exhibition in ASK’s Main Gallery
• Promotional support through ASK’s website, social media, email newsletter, and press outreach
• An opening reception
• Artwork sales facilitation (ASK commission applies)

Selection Criteria

Applications will be reviewed by ASK’s Gallery Committee based on:

• Artistic quality
• Cohesion of the proposed exhibition
• Originality of vision
• Suitability for the gallery space

Timeline

• Application Deadline: October 1, 2026
• Notification of Artists: OCTOBER 30. 2026
• Exhibitions: Scheduled throughout the 2027 exhibition season

By submitting this form you acknowledge:

• You are applying for a gallery exhibition at the Arts Society of Kingston during 2027
• That each exhibition will run for approximately 6 weeks. The schedule:
  

  March 6 – April 18	1st show
  April 24 – June 6	2nd show
  June 12 – July 25	3rd show
  July 31 – September 12	4th show
  September 18 – October 30	5th show
  November 6 – December 19	6th show

• You will gallery sit for all three galleries one time during your exhibit and be present at your opening
• You are responsible for delivering artwork, take down/load-out, labels, and providing images of your work to the Gallery Committee. Support will be provided for installation and post-show patching and painting.
• You are responsible for providing your own PR to the gallery committee six weeks prior to the show
• You agree to pay required fees
  • The rental fee is $75 is for the small Front Gallery
  • $300 for the larger Spotlight Gallery
  • Payment in full within 10 days of receipt of contract, with return of signed contract
• ASK will coordinate the sale of artworks
  • ASK retains 30% administrative fee from each work sold during the duration of the exhibition
  • The artist will receive 70% within two weeks after exhibit closing
