Our Spotlight Artists for the month of August are the mother-son duo of Nancy and Jon Campbell, with the Spotlight Exhibition titled Campbell+Campbell, Recent Paintings.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 13, 1952, Nancy Campbell grew up in Saugerties, NY. She lives in the Village of Saugerties with her husband Michael, where she maintains her art studio. She was the former proprietor of the Half Moon Studio Art Gallery in the Village of Saugerties. Nancy has organized workshops in Italy, primarily in Lazio, since 2012. Nancy and Michael have three grown sons and a granddaughter who live near and far…in Berlin, Salt Lake City, and Jamaica, Vermont.
Jon Campbell was born in 1982 in Kingston, NY and has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He studied at the Woodstock School of Art (1998 – 2005), the School of Visual Arts (2001-2002) and received his B.F.A. in 2006 from SUNY Purchase (2004 – 2006). Jon relocated to Berlin, Germany in May of 2007 and has been living and working there since. His paintings have been exhibited internationally and are in numerous private collections.
