A presentation of Hudson Valley Improv
A middle aged queer married dad in a shirt and tie stands on the bare stage. He tells the audience that he has written a few poems he’d like them to hear. As he goes on to explain the meaning of the title, he strips down to only his boxer shorts, signifying that what is to come is just as raw and surprising.
What follows is a reading of six biographical poems in chronological order; each followed by an improvised musical interval and a distinct performance bringing out the critical element of each poem. The work culminates in a life review that will resonate with the shared experiences of every audience member.
