Sign up is open until November 2nd for the Members Performance Showcase at 7pm on November 5th. Showcase spots are open to all ASK Members who work in theater, spoken word, dance, comedy, music or any other performing art — regardless of whether that is your primary medium!
Already on the schedule is new improvisational dance/theater work by clyde forth, and a reading by playwright and filmmaker Cari Marvelli. Four slots are still available, so sign up and bring your friends. It promises to be an exciting evening.
Up to six performers or groups each get ten minutes of stage time to present their live performance — short finished work, an excerpt of a longer piece, or a work-in-progress — any form of live performance. (No slide lectures or video documents of previously presented work, please.) After the performances, there will be a moderated feedback session with the audience for artists wishing to participate.
The event will be open to the public in person by donation, so sign up by November 2nd to get on the program – and call your friends! Donations received in excess of expenses are split among the performers. To get on the program and receive more detailed info, visit this page.
The Members Showcase is one of the new initiatives supporting performing artists at ASK. Currently a quarterly event, we hope to go monthly as participation grows!
