In honor of Women’s History Month, join us for a free community screening of Hidden Figures, the true story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, who worked as “human computers” to perform complex math and engineering calculations. Their work was essential to the success of early spaceflight and the Space Race. The film also highlights the racism and discrimination the women faced as they fought for equal rights and opportunity.
Directed by Theodore Melfi and written by Melfi and Allison Schroeder, and starring Taraji P. Henson as Katherine Johnson, Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughan, Janelle Monáe as Mary Jackson, with Kevin Costner as Al Harrison.
