At this point you have a solid understanding of improv\, memorized gauntlet of games and exercises\, you have a solid acting technique\, a solid ensemble\, you’ve performed\, directed and created games. Now you’re ready to put it all to the test. Here you learn how to draw upon your training at a moments notice and find the game in a scene with no pre-established rules or suggestions. You’ll learn how to recognize when a game begins (or introduce one) within a scene WHILE playing the scene and then take it to the next level. You’ll also heighten your ability to not only create game\, but an entire show at breakneck speed. Nothing will shake you. Your final show? Oh yeah…it’s gonna be mind blowing. The resulting Art Packs merge horticulture\, storytelling\, and visual art\, transforming seed packets into collectible works that celebrate biodiversity\, sustainability\, and creative expression. \n\n\n\nFeatured artists include Ana Bianchi\, Beth Haber\, Caro Arevalo\, Catalina Villegas\, Deanna Staffo\, Elizabeth Castaldo\, Gabe Brown\, Jiny He\, Lianne Pflug\, Nancy Blum\, Natalya Khorover\, Nicole Gustafsson\, Pearl Cowan\, and Rachel Krohn. DESCRIPTION:Edward Bakst: Hidden Realities \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEdward Bakst: Hidden Realities \n\n\n\nIn his first solo exhibition at ASK\, internationally acclaimed artist\, Edward Bakst\, presents two interconnected bodies of photographic work that investigate what lies beyond ordinary perception. \n\n\n\nBakst’s Non-Linear Panoramas Series disrupts conventional photographic perspectives by employing a unique in-camera process that transforms a single viewpoint into simultaneous dimensions of time and space. Created entirely within an iPhone without digital stitching\, these images challenge gravity\, perspective\, and expectations\, revealing abstracted realities shaped by emotion\, memory\, and environmental change. \n\n\n\nHis Hidden Spaces Series delves into seemingly ordinary objects\, textures\, and scenes to uncover unexpected worlds concealed within them. Through close observation and digital exploration\, Bakst reveals imagined landscapes\, microscopic universes\, atmospheric forms\, and visual phenomena that emerge from the overlooked details of everyday life. \n\n\n\nTogether\, the series invite viewers to contemplate the hidden structures\, perceptions\, and possibilities that exist beneath the surface of the visible world. \n\n\n\nBakst’s work has been exhibited internationally in New York City\, Milan\, Barcelona\, Seoul\, Australia\, Qatar\, and beyond. A recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a former Fulbright Specialist\, he has also led imagination workshops around the world and held leadership positions at major institutions including Pratt Institute\, Columbia University\, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

DESCRIPTION:The Space Between Seeing and Feeling \n\n\n\nKen Wenger \n\n\n\nThe Space Between Seeing and Feeling showcases the work of Ken Wenger\, whose artistic practice is driven by an intrinsic need to express the profound emotions that arise from close observation of the world. Working across a range of media\, with a particular emphasis on pastel\, Wenger reveals the beauty and emotional depth found within portraiture. \n\n\n\nHis process begins with a black-and-white photograph enlarged and printed on textured paper\, creating a foundation for richly layered pastel applications. Sometimes working delicately with his fingertips and other times using the full force of his hand\, Wenger transforms photographic images into deeply tactile works that blur the boundary between documentation and emotional interpretation. \n\n\n\nHis subjects range from intimate studies of flowers to dramatic nudes and emotionally charged figurative scenes. Across these varied themes\, Wenger is consistently drawn to moments of vulnerability and intensity. DESCRIPTION:Reclaimed Light\, Mended Worlds \n\n\n\nNatalya Khorover \n\n\n\nIn Reclaimed Light\, Mended Worlds\, Natalya Khorover transforms discarded materials—including single-use plastics\, vintage linens\, and urban debris—into installations and sculptural objects that reveal beauty within the overlooked. \n\n\n\nDrawing upon community-collected waste\, Khorover explores themes of healing\, repair\, and renewal. Her work reflects the poetic light filtering through city structures\, weathered surfaces\, and grime-streaked windows while celebrating the intuitive act of mending broken fragments into new forms. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition brings together four interconnected series: \n\n\n\n\nInner Work\, a meditation on personal and planetary healing.\n\n\n\nUrban Perspective\, celebrating the layered\, luminous chaos of the city.\n\n\n\nForever Ephemeral\, where bottles filled with shredded plastic waste become glowing relics of contemporary consumption.\n\n\n\nPhantom Blooms\, an imagined garden in which discarded plastics are transformed into strange seedlings and shimmering flowers.\n\n\n\n\nTogether\, these works invite viewers to reconsider what we throw away\, what we choose to preserve\, and how acts of transformation can turn waste into wonder. \n\n\n\nFor more than twenty years\, Khorover has reclaimed and repurposed discarded materials\, inspired by a thrifty upbringing in Leningrad\, USSR\, and New York City. She has created numerous site-specific installations\, including Arcadia Lost (ArtsWestchester)\, Hothouse\, and Speaking of Birds (Tilly Foster Farm Museum). \n\n\n\nA graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA\, Khorover transitioned from careers in fashion and film to a full-time studio practice. Her work has been featured in Quilt National\, Quilts=Art=Quilts\, Surface Design Magazine\, Fiber Art Now\, and SAQA Journal. She is also an educator\, lecturer\, and founder of REPURPOSER COLLECTIVE\, a community for artists working with sustainable materials\, and host of the podcast SALVAGE\, which explores repurposed art practices.
