ASK is pleased to feature Landscapes, Waterscapes and Escapes by Terry Haas and Andrea Park in our galleries online and at 97 Broadway in Kingston, NY from July 3-August 1, 2021.

I paint what I see: color and light. Both are found in abundance in the beauty of the Hudson Valley. This collection of paintings represents my exploration of Ulster, Columbia, Dutchess, and Sullivan Counties. Some were painted plein air only. Some began as watercolor sketches made while floating in my kayak, while others were painted in my studio from on-site sketches and photographs. I hope these paintings inspire you to go outside and play.

Painting is my play. It gives me joy, challenges, freedom, and hope.”

Andrea has lived in Kingston, NY for more than 30 years. After retiring from her  position as Executive Director at the YWCA Ulster County, she has been exploring her love of painting. She currently paints with oils, primarily landscapes and cloudscapes. She relaxes by sketching with watercolors while kayaking in the Hudson Valley.

“Growing up near the ocean awakened my aesthetic sense at a young age. Now, living in the Hudson Valley, I’ve discovered the beauty of this area. This collection exhibits the diversity, energy and tranquility I have found here and I am thrilled to be able to share it with the viewer.

Snowshoeing in winter, swimming in summer, bicycling in spring and hiking in the fall provide physical and visual experiences that are ideal for photography all year round! I feel so lucky to live in such a lovely place!”
