This month, the ASK Education Committee will host its monthly Visual Artist Feedback Session for all ASK members and their guests. As an artist, we can gain insights into our work through feedback from peers... if this feedback is invited, supportive, and constructive. As an ASK member, you have an opportunity to give and receive this kind of feedback. You may also bring a guest.
Our Spotlight Solo Artist for the month of October 2022 is New York artist Harris Diamant with an exhibition titled Headonics.
Every month ASK provides a prompt for our members to respond to and this October the theme is Death: “The acceptance of death makes life more rich and fosters better relationships with ourselves and each other”
Up to six performers or groups each get ten minutes of stage time to present their live performance -- short finished work, an excerpt of a longer piece, or a work-in-progress -- any form of live performance. (No slide lectures or video documents of previously presented work, please.) After the performances, there will be a moderated feedback session with the audience for artists wishing to participate.
Every month we ask our Members to contribute work for an exhibition around a theme or specific media. This month’s theme is The Abstract Eye: Abstraction is a way of seeing the world and has unlimited possibilities of subject or content.
Our Spotlight Exhibition for the month of December 2022 is Under 30 featuring works by Hudson Valley-based artists under 30 years old in all genres, styles, and mediums.
